About Me

I have extensive experience as an orchestra conductor, music educator and author. I have worked extensively with professional, community and youth orchestras. I also have extensive experience as an administrator in higher education and orchestra management. I have conducted orchestras through out the US and Europe including the Sochi Symphony (Russia) and the Alahmbra Orchestra (Florida). I am also a certified Orchestra Adjudicator and have adjudicated orchestra festivals through out the state of Florida. I hold a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree from the University of South Carolina

I am a native of Pueblo, CO and grew up playing cello, first in the Pueblo Youth Symphony and latter with the Pueblo Symphony, Mozart Chamber Orchestra and Pueblo Jazz Orchestra. I become interested in conducting in high school and pursued it under the tutelage of Dr. Armand Vorce, Will Schwartz and Donald Portnoy. I attended the Tanglewood Music Center and studied with Gustav Meier. Since 1997 I have lived in Miami, FL were I conducted the South Florida Youth Symphony, guest conduct in Eastern Europe and serve as an Associate Professor of Music at Florida Memorial University. I have also served as an orchestra adjudicator for many state orchestra festivals in Florida. I am an avid reader and love Russian novels, I collect classical music CDs and scores, and have six cats
